We are sitting here in isolation and millions of people are being laid off during these challenging times.
For this week’s #WinePickWednesday selection, I thought this was a great time to share a few budget-worthy wine picks. Sometimes you just want a simple, easy, quaffable wine that doesn’t break the bank, but is versatile with your food. Also many of us are now faced with working from home and you need a quick bottle of wine that can do in a pinch. Below are three of my favorites from Trader Joe’s where you can find some of the best values.
Anybody can pick up an expensive bottle that tastes great, but how about an affordable one that over delivers?
2017 Vignobles Lacheteau Muscadet de Sèvre-et-Maine Sur Lie
A delicate, lightly acidic white wine made exclusively from the Melon de Bourgogne grape.
Perfect with seafood, especially oysters.
$6.99*
2015 Caves Saint-Pierre Gigondas
A blend of Grenache, Syrah and and Mourvedre from Gigondas, France. Ends dry with good length and lingering dark fruit and mineral notes.
Complements beef dishes nicely (think beef stew).
$14.99*
Pagos del Rey Condado de Oriza Reserva
Complex and elegant, with marked mineral notes and other aromas.
Delicious with red meats, cheeses and lamb.
$14.99
